A New Beginning… (1)

Time for a new chapter!

Life seems to be a story for us. We are, of course, the main character in a long series of chapters, each one with it's own set of adventures and lessons...

The current chapter in my life story involves me as the lead actress, my husband as the love interest and our little crazy dog for the comical parts!
It's all about a new beginning in our joint life, starting with selling the house we bought together and got married in, to buying another to start a new adventure...

Each layer in a painting is a little like a chapter in someone's life story: I start with a background (childhood), add a little more interest (teenage hood) then more depth (adulthood). Sometimes I will cover up everything I have just done because it feels necessary to move forward (like leaving your childhood home and parents to get your own). I keep going by adding complex focal points as highlights (like the important events that make us: the birth of a baby, the death of a loved one, a new partner...) and will finish with several layers of glossy varnish to ensure the painting lasts forever, like preserving memories...

This particular painting had a completely different personality at first but...
I changed and evolved, as a person and an artist and so, the painting has to reflect the new me, the new beginning in my life.

I hope this painting will speak to you and will maybe also mark a new beginning in your life!
