Free whimsical bird template for your art

You know how much I love my cute little whimsical birds, don’t you?!
There is just something so sweet about them! Birds are so fragile and innocent, but whimsical birds…?
Well, they just turn your heart into a marshmallow haha

I decided to give you this template because the bird below is going to be the star of one of the chapters in the mixed media project book I am currently writing 🙂

So, if you want to create the painting in that chapter (or anywhere else) but don’t feel comfortable with any kind of drawing (and trust me, I’m not much better!), this will make things easier for you: I scanned my bird and turned him into a free template you can download anytime.

What do you do with it? Print it then cut out the bird of your choice with scissors. Place it on the surface to be painted and trace around the cutout with a pencil. Once you have painted the body, you can simply draw the feathers and eye, using the template as a guide.

And don’t forget to give him a little ”tail” and some feet so he doesn’t fall down and hurt his head 😉

The file is letter size (will also print on A4) and contains one large bird for bigger paintings and a smaller one for art journalling (or as a companion to the big one!). It’s very basic so you can give him his own personality!
