Unique. One of a Kind. For cool people only!

It is with slightly cramped hands that I write these words, announcing the release of this year’s Hand painted baubles!

Why cramped hands you ask? Have you ever tried painting something small, completely round and slippery with a very fine brush? That’s why 🙂
The pain was worth it though as each one is completely unique but all of them work together like a charm, no matter which one you pick.

All of them are painted in the same colour palette (no matter how different they make look in the photos because of the lighting): light turquoise, deep turquoise, yellow, magenta, black and white.
And all of them have a little iridescent glitter to make them sparkle!

Each bauble is unbreakable, 6cm (2.36 in) in diameter and comes with a pretty satin ribbon to attach it to where-ever you like…
It doesn’t have to be a Christmas tree (although I promise they will jazz up ANY tree!), it could be inside your car, a dull corner of your home, a lamp, a door handle… I hang things everywhere in my house 😀

How were the baubles painted?

All of them are hand painted with acrylics and ink.
If you thought that all you need to do is a few dabs of colour on each bauble and you’re done well, not quite!
They are actually quite time consuming to create as each layer needs time to dry in between so it looks something like this:

1. add blue – dry 1 hour
2. add pink – dry 1 hour
3. add yellow – dry 1 hour
4. go back for adjustments – dry 1 hour
5. add black details – dry 1 hour
6. add white details – dry 1 hour
7. add glitter – dry 1 hour
8. add 1st coat of varnish – dry 1 hour
9. add 2nd coat of varnish – dry a couple of days
   And then we’re done, hooray 🙂
