Release: mixed media painting by Mimi Bondi

My style has developed and changed quite a bit over the years and a painting I created a while ago was begging for a makeover!

My Dream Girl made an appearance, just like that, not too long ago and she decided to pay me a visit again… to show me how easy it can be to release whatever is holding you back…

When you let go of what has been holding you down for a while, you experience a sudden feeling of joy, freedom and light heartedness… represented by the butterflies.

There is a lot of heavy texture created with oil paint in the background which makes it sooo interesting! A few gold highlights here and there capture the sun. I truly love this piece as it speaks to me on many levels.

I added a little video of the painting so you can get a better representation of it, as if you were looking at it in my studio (it’s not professional quality but it’s honest!).

I used oils, pan pastels and ink to create this original abstract painting on canvas, measuring approx. 24 x 24 in or 61 x 61 x 3 cm.
