Studio Time 3 – The Birth of a Painting

by | Blog - Tutorials | 6 comments

I love finding out how someone gets to create their beautiful artworks… it’s just so magical to see them start from nothing and end up with a piece that has so much meaning and beauty, both for the artist and the viewer.

I figured you may want to see how I create some of my art too and particularly, a large canvas so… here is the whole process, from start (well, almost) to finish! I hope you enjoy it… I wish I could do this with every piece I create but it’s just too time consuming!

Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below 🙂

With love and sunshine…

Mimi.

PS: This is not a tutorial so I will not explain what supplies or techniques I have used (please don’t ask, just enjoy). Thank you ?

This is the fast forwarded timelapse with an introduction just before starting the painting
so you can see my frame of mind and where the inspiration was coming from…

And if you would like more details, here is the long version, broken down in easier to follow ”bites” 😉

Thank you so much for your lovely comment Judy! I start with an apron and then I forget to put it back on and have to do mad dashes to the tap to save my clothes haha more lazy than brave, right?
