Bali has always been a special place for us, and what better way to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary than by returning to our favourite island?
This was our sixth time in Bali, so instead of rushing around sightseeing, we focused on what we truly love: relaxing, soaking in the beauty, and simply enjoying each other’s company.
As always, we rented a private villa, our peaceful hideaway from the world. There’s just something magical about having our own space, especially with a beautiful pool just steps away. The turquoise water is mesmerising, and with the March heat and humidity, that pool was my sanctuary. Morning, afternoon, and evening – you name it, I was in there, keeping cool and staying sane! Hahaha.
One of the biggest joys of this trip was the food. Being vegan for less than two years, I’ve struggled to eat out where I live, as the options are quite limited. But Bali? Oh, it’s a dream! So many incredible restaurants that not only serve delicious vegan food but also share the same values I do, working hard to protect animals and the planet. Every meal felt like a celebration, and it was such a relief to have so many choices.
Of course, no Bali trip is complete without our scooter adventures! It’s the absolute best way to get around, and we always have a blast zooming through the streets. (Let’s be real – I wouldn’t last long if I was the one driving, so I happily let Pete do it while I shout directions at him!) .There’s such a fun sense of freedom that comes with it, and it makes exploring so much more enjoyable.
Our days were blissfully simple: a slow, simple breakfast, followed by some creative time (I was so inspired that I started a new collection – I can’t wait to share it with you soon!). Then, it was pool time, a little adventure on the scooter to find a great lunch spot, back to the villa for another swim and some rest, and then out again in the evening. And, without fail, we always ended the night with one last dip in the pool – pure perfection.
I also put together a video vlog of our adventure, capturing all these special moments, and I’d love for you to watch it! Whether you’re dreaming of your own Bali escape or just love seeing a glimpse of island life, I hope it brings you joy.
Here’s to 10 years of love, adventure, and many more Bali getaways to come (much sooner than you think )!
