Quick Tips
Wax melts are one of the simplest ways to bring a little colour and comfort into your day ā no flame (unless youāre using one of my tealight burners!), just cosy scent drifting through your home. Here are a few easy tips to help your melts last longer, perform better, and fill your space with a gentle kind of magic.
Choosing Your Warmer
A good-quality electric melter gives the most consistent experience, while tealight burners offer a lovely, atmospheric glow.
⢠Electric: choose one with a stable dish and a warm (not scorching) melt temperature
⢠Tealight: use only unscented tealights to avoid overpowering or mixing scents
⢠Avoid any warmer that gets excessively hot ā it burns off fragrance too quickly
How Much Wax to Use
Start with one bar.
⢠Add more only if you prefer a stronger scent
⢠Overfilling the dish can reduce fragrance performance
Let It Melt Fully
Allow the wax to completely liquify each time you use it.
This helps the fragrance release evenly and keeps the wax pooling nicely.
How to Know When to Change It
When you can no longer smell the melt while your warmer is on, itās time for a refresh.
⢠Let the wax cool until solid
⢠Pop it out (or warm it just enough to loosen)
⢠Wipe the dish clean with a paper towel before adding your next melt
Where to Use Them
Wax melts shine in:
⢠Living rooms
⢠Bedrooms
⢠Studios or offices
⢠Bathrooms
⢠Entryways for instant cosy vibes
Avoid placing your warmer near strong drafts or open windows ā the fragrance wonāt be able to work its charm.
Safety First
Whether youāre using an electric melter or one of the tealight burners I stock, a few simple steps keep everything safe and stress-free:
Electric Wax Melters
⢠Place on a flat, heat-resistant surface
⢠Keep away from curtains, drafts, and wobbly areas
⢠Ensure cords arenāt stretched or pulling
⢠Turn off when leaving the house or heading to bed
⢠Avoid touching the hot dish while in use
Tealight Burners
⢠Use unscented, good-quality tealights only
⢠Never use more than one tealight at a time
⢠Ensure the tealight sits securely under the dish
⢠Keep the flame away from pets, little hands, and anything flammable
⢠Extinguish the tealight before the wax dish runs completely dry
⢠Do not move the burner while the tealight is lit or the wax is hot
For Both
⢠Keep warmers on a stable, uncluttered surface
⢠Never leave them unattended for long periods
⢠Keep out of reach of pets and children
⢠Follow your warmerās instructions
⢠Allow wax and the dish to fully cool before cleaning or handling
Cleaning Your Warmer
A quick refresh keeps your scents vibrant.
⢠When warm: carefully pour liquid wax into the bin (never down drains)
⢠When cold: gently tap out the hardened wax
⢠Wipe the dish clean to avoid mixing old and new scents
Storing Your Wax Melts
To keep them smelling their best:
⢠Store in a cool, dry place
⢠Keep them in their original packaging
⢠Avoid direct sunlight and heat
