Welcome my Lovely Creative Friend,
Thank you SO MUCH for being part of the Art Bundle for Good 9, I am so excited to be part of it, and to have you here!
If you are new here, let me introduce myself very briefly: I am a mixed media artist based in Queensland, Australia. My style has evolved over the last 24-ish years, from soft colourful abstracts on canvas to bold mixed media on thousands of art journal pages and art tags. After turning to van life to tour the country for 6 months last year, all of this has merged into a new-ish style of colourful dreamy landscapes. Things may change but it’s always me 🙂
It doesn’t matter where you start or which direction you are going in as long as you are moving forward so… If you are new to mixed media, I am super excited for you to discover a wonderful world of endless possibilities – and art supplies that keep on growing (I should know, I owned a mixed media art supplies store for 6 years!).
One of those fun art supplies is washi tape… You know,, those little rolls of fun we can’t help collecting but not always sure what to do with???
Well, let me show you a fun way to incorporate washi tape into a finished painting you can hang on your wall! This is a super easy technique you can then re-use in countless ways to create art journal pages, greeting cards, tags and so much more. And by the way… my washi tape collection has grown tenfolds since I made the video, they are so addictive!!
Please note this tutorial follows me along in real time and I made it with the beginner mixed media artist in mind so you can create – at the same time you are watching the the videos. Feel free to fast forward IF you are not creating ‘live’.
Ready? Put your favourite music on, light up a scented candle, and let’s have fun with washi tape and paint!
