Leaves and Clouds… Where did they come from??
I’ll be honest, I’m not really in the mood to paint today!
I feel sleepy, I have a commissioned painting to work on, new paintings to varnish…
I notice my mind is looking for excuses…
I’m thinking “Maybe I’ll just won’t send out my newsletter this week?”… But NO.
I made a commitment to you my Creative Friend and I know you are eagerly waiting to receive the sunny content I said I would give you every week 😉
Therefore I shall push myself a little and create a new tutorial regardless of how I’m feeling (it’s not like going to the gym after all!). And from experience, I know that pushing myself a little usually results in things flowing when I paint so I really have no excuses!
I had nothing specific in mind when I started but somehow, leaves and clouds are what’s left in my art journal spread today. Any clues of what happened here? hahaha
Just do it anyway.
If I can push myself a little, I know you can too! If you’re not feeling the arty love while reading this then please don’t give up! Go sit at your art table anyway and just put paint to paper. Any paint, any paper.
And if leaves and clouds also appear for you then make sure to post a photo in the Facebook support group so I will know I’m not alone in this crazy world 😉

Well that is a funny thing about my fish Mimi! That’s amazing! I am never sure who might see my Society6 page as there are soooo many artists on there!! Thank you for your appreciation. I work with alcohol inks but they are hard to control which is why I just loved your book and tutorials as soon as I saw them because they opened up a whole new world of letting go and having fun with vibrant colour and textures! I had never used acrylics, stencils or stamps before and now I keep acquiring more toys. I don’t know how that happens do you? 😉 Helen xxx

Thank you for creating this video Mimi, it means a lot! I really look forward to hearing your cheery voice and watching yet another pretty piece unfold. Very apt for me because it is autumn here in Spain and the leaves are turning. Yet I am in the doldrums too. I think its the change of season. I have just come back from the UK where I picked up lots of art goodies and I am not creating anything. I feel I have lost my Mojo! It’s only temporary, it happens 🙂 Probably because I think I should be creating marvellous proper saleable items to offset the cost of materials and then it’s difficult to even start.
I also struggle with perfectionitis and it’s good to see Aimee’s post! You inspire me, I have some catching up to do! Love <3 <3 Helen 🙂
