Step into my world of tranquility with “A Quiet Afternoon,” where I aimed to capture the serene beauty and calming energy of a peaceful landscape. My intention was to transport viewers to a place of relaxation and inner peace, where the gentle whispers of nature and the warm embrace of the afternoon sun create a sense of timeless serenity.

In this scene, I wanted to convey the beauty of the natural world in all its quiet glory. The distant trees stand as silent sentinels, while the calm, serene river reflects the soft hues of the setting sun, casting a golden glow upon the water’s surface. As sunlight dances upon the ripples, it creates a mesmerising display of colour and movement that captivates the senses.

In the foreground, I painted a winding path leading viewers deeper into the heart of the landscape, while the dancing shadows of the trees sway gently in the breeze. Through expressive brushstrokes and a palette of vibrant greens and purples, I aimed to evoke a sense of tranquility and calm that envelops viewers like a comforting embrace.

This original painting was created on high-quality, thick paper (450gsm), with a subtle canvas texture for added depth.

I added gorgeous shimmery highlights that dance and gleam when the light catches ā€“ a delightful surprise that truly shines in person as metallics are impossible to capture on camera!

It is A3 size (297 x 420 mm) with a white border all around, and easily fits into standard frames. It comes unframed but would look fantastic in any style of frame – see examples in the photo gallery.

Returns Policy:

I want you to love your artwork but you can return if you wish! If so, you have five (5) days from the date of delivery to notify me here. If you paid for shipping, the full amount minus shipping costs will be refunded. If you received free shipping, the full amount minus 20% of the full amount will be refunded.

Please be prepared to return the artwork within three (3) days of notifying me of the return. When possible, use the original packaging or a professional packing company. The return shipment must be via a trackable shipping service.

To receive your refund, the artwork must be returned in the same condition in which it was shipped. A refund will be issued within 24 hours of receipt of the artwork.
