I chose flowers as a subject because I wanted this painting to be symbolic:
It could be a mother watching over her children...
It could be our partner comforting us when we feel sad or hurt...
It could be us as kids, looking up to our parent(s) for guidance and love...
It could be those who are fragile and need our protection - I am thinking in particular of animals who constantly get exploited and mistreated by us, when we should be defending and protecting them with all our heart.
I painted sunflowers because they instantly make you feel feel the sun on your face but "Together'' is more than just a sunflower painting: it is a representation of the invisible but palpable bond that binds us with our loved ones.
I love how it is filled with vibrant colours and expressive brushstrokes, and how the warm yellows and oranges beautifully contrasts with the blues in the background.
I hope "Together" will bring a feeling of joy and connection to your home and remind you of the importance of cherishing our loved ones and protecting those who need us. Whether in your living room, office, or any cherished spot, I know it will bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart.
This original sunflower painting was created on high-quality, thick paper (450gsm), with a subtle canvas texture for added depth.
I added gorgeous shimmering highlights that dance and gleam when the light catches - a delightful surprise that truly shines in person as metallics are impossible to capture on camera!
