Leaves and Clouds… Where did they come from??
I’ll be honest, I’m not really in the mood to paint today!
I feel sleepy, I have a commissioned painting to work on, new paintings to varnish…
I notice my mind is looking for excuses…
I’m thinking “Maybe I’ll just won’t send out my newsletter this week?”…Ā ButĀ NO.
I made a commitment to you my Creative Friend and I know you are eagerly waiting to receive the sunny content I said I would give you every week š
Therefore I shallĀ push myself a little and create a new tutorial regardless of how I’m feeling (it’s not like going to the gym after all!).Ā And from experience, I know that pushing myself a little usually results in things flowing when I paint so I really have no excuses!
I had nothing specific in mind when I started but somehow, leaves and clouds are what’s left in my art journal spread today. Any clues of what happened here? hahaha
Just do it anyway.
If I can push myself a little, I know you can too!Ā IfĀ you’re not feeling the arty loveĀ while reading this then please don’t give up! Go sit at your art table anyway and just put paint to paper. Any paint, any paper.
And if leaves and clouds also appear for you then make sure to post a photo in the Facebook support group so I will know I’m not alone in this crazy world š
Love to you my Creative Friend!
xx Mimi

Well that is a funny thing about my fish Mimi! That’s amazing! I am never sure who might see my Society6 page as there are soooo many artists on there!! Thank you for your appreciation. I work with alcohol inks but they are hard to control which is why I just loved your book and tutorials as soon as I saw them because they opened up a whole new world of letting go and having fun with vibrant colour and textures! I had never used acrylics, stencils or stamps before and now I keep acquiring more toys. I don’t know how that happens do you? š Helen xxx
I agree with you Helen, S6 is way too crowded to be discovered but what a small pond the world can be sometimes š Alcohol inks do what they want so I admire anyone who can actually create a painting with them š Sorry for giving you the mixed media bug, it’s just so contagious š xxx mimi
I love the way you transformed quite a dull green in to such a joyful page. I am a bit bogged down at the moment but will try this as soon as I have time. Exciting news ! My birthday tomorrow and I will be getting your book! Squeeee
Woot woot!!! Happy birthday Sue!! Something to get cheered up and getting out of that funk š xx
Thanks again for your cheerful attitude. You really do bring sunshine – even when you don’t feel too sunny yourself!
Awww thank you so much Diane š š xxx
Thank you for creating this video Mimi, it means a lot! I really look forward to hearing your cheery voice and watching yet another pretty piece unfold. Very apt for me because it is autumn here in Spain and the leaves are turning. Yet I am in the doldrums too. I think its the change of season. I have just come back from the UK where I picked up lots of art goodies and I am not creating anything. I feel I have lost my Mojo! It’s only temporary, it happens š Probably because I think I should be creating marvellous proper saleable items to offset the cost of materials and then it’s difficult to even start.
I also struggle with perfectionitis and it’s good to see Aimee’s post! You inspire me, I have some catching up to do! Love <3 <3 Helen š
How exciting to have lots of new arty toys to play with Helen!! Your mojo is just having a nap, don’t worry š I just realised the funniest thing (and I hope you see this message): I almost ordered a pillow on Society 6 the other day that had beautiful colourful fish on it and, I just realised it was your design when I saw ”moonmotharts” on your message here! xx
Happy autumn leaves – lovely page
Thank you for inspiring usx
It is my pleasure Bernadette! Thank you for your comment š xx
Thank you- your positive dialogue helps me reduce my perfectionist tendencies and I have learned to allow myself to “see what happens.”
So far I have produced more art and had lots more fun doing it. I value your inspiration and tips, and recommend you to anyone who claims they aren’t creative.
Best to you and your readers.
Good on you for allowing yourself to enjoy the process more than the end result and for helping others doing the same š Thank you so much for your support Aimee xx
Loved the way your page evolved. Your videos are such a pleasure to watch.
Thanks so much Betty š xx
Thank you for doing it! It’s fun to watch you create.
You are welcome Diane!! Love to you from Australia š
Its so relaxing watching you paint Mimi
I love watching the evolution of the layers of designs and colours
Awww thank you Jane!!! I’m glad to hear it š xx

Hahahaha Thank you Sharon!! You’re a sweetie š xx
