10 songs to get your creative juices flowing (Part 1)

To get the creative juices flowing, you need to FEEL loose!

Sometimes it’s easier said than done but… I know a way that never fails for me and that is: MUSIC!

For me, that means songs that make me feel good, AND excited AND a little silly 🙂
The kind of song that has easy positive, fun lyrics and a catchy beat!
So, without further ado, here are my top 10 songs to get your creative juices flowing (in no particular order of preference)!!
PS: I didn’t want to make this post too long so this is PART 1 of the list 😉

  • MC Hammer – “Can’t Touch This”

One of my favourite silly songs of all times!!
How can anyone NOT jump around and sing along when hearing this, I ask???

My-my-my-my music makes me so hard makes me say oh my Lord
Thank you for blessing me with a mind to rhyme and two hype feet
That’s good when you know you’re down
A super dope homeboy from the Oaktown
    And I’m known as such
And this is a beat uh u can’t touch

If it doesn’t at least make your shoulders wriggle a bit then watch the silly pants they used to wear and THAT should put a smile on your face 🙂

  • Rednex – “Cotton Eye Joe”

Sorry, can’t talk, must jump around like a cowgirl on a crazy bull and play the AIR BANJO!!!

If it hadn’t been for Cotton-Eye Joe
I’d been married a long time ago
Where did you come from, where did you go?
Where did you come from, Cotton-Eye Joe?

Come on, who’s with me??
If you are ready to leave your chair then how about learning some steps with these 2 dorky guys who cracked me up:

  • Bobby McFerrin – “Don’t Worry Be Happy”

After all that jumping around, we need to catch our breath with an oldie but… A goodie!!

    ‘s a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
    Don’t worry, be happy
In every life we have some trouble
But when you worry, you make it double
    Don’t worry, be happy
    Don’t worry, be happy now

Am I hearing some whistling…?? 😉 Are the creative juices flowing yet?

  • ABBA – “Take a Chance on Me”

If we wore all white clothing like these guys did, imagine what we’d look like after a painting sesh??? lol

If you change your mind, I’m the first in line
    Honey I’m still free
    Take a chance on me

PS: I never thought wooly jumpers and cardigans were hip until I saw ABBA hehe 🙂

  • Junior Senior – “Move Your Feet”

I’m not a big fan of the video but, the beat DEFINITELY makes me want my foot whenever I hear this song!
And the lyrics are very simple to remember so… EVERYBODY… MOVE YOUR FEET AND FEEL UNITED… OOOH, OHH!

Don’t stop, can’t stop the feet
Won’t stop, won’t stop the beat and go
Everybody, move your feet and feel united
    Oh oh oh
Everybody, move your feet and feel united
    Oh oh oh, yeah

We’re going downtown, oh yeah… 😉

I know this was a different kind of post from the usual content I send out but I hope you enjoyed it and that these songs put you in a good mood? Do you feel the creative juices flowing yet???
If no, then make up a playlist of songs that make YOU feel great and listen to it on repeat until you are dancing! If yes, then awesome!! Go paint while you are on a high and create something amazing!!!

I KNOW YOU CAN.

Love to you my Creative Friend! And don’t forget to check out Part 2, with more modern songs!
